This is one of the most beautiful concepts and instruments of the Andean Tradition. The bands of power are a protective mesh of energy is woven around the torso of the body using special khuyas.
There is a designated khuya for each part of the body. The set of five khuyas (chumpi khuyas) are very special power stones. Khuyas are used to open, activate and charge the energy of five bands of power for protection and strengthening of the luminous body.
In the Andean Tradition there are bands of energy called chumpis or belts of power. Within these belts there are areas of intense energy that are called ñawis (eyes). The ñawis at the front (anterior) of the body connect to the energy of the past and the ñawis at the back (posterior) of the body connect to the energy of the future.
The Bands of Power consist of five energetic bands representing earth, air, fire, water, and pure light. These bands are installed in your Luminous energy field, and act as filters, breaking down into one of the five elements any negative energies that come your way so that these energies can feed you instead of making you toxic or ill.
The Bands of Power are always “on” within the luminous energy field, so that negative energies can not penetrate, and instead are repelled and go back to Mother Earth to be mulched.
The black band is placed around the first and second chakra representing earth, the red band of water around the 3rd chakra, the gold band of fire around the 4th chakra, the silver band of wind around the 5th chakra, the white band of pure spirit around the 6th chakra. Each of the bands have threads that then go down into the ground underneath your feet, from your crown, down the spine and around the tailbone to weave it all together so the rainbow bridge connects you to the upper world, the world of your becoming that you source yourself from.
This treatment strengthen the energy system, chakras and bring in protection to the luminous field. The chumpi khuyas are used to open the ñawis (ñawi kichay), suck out the dense energy (hucha), and then close them. They are also used to knit the energy belts (chumpi away), or strengthen the fissures of the energy body (poqpo) to form the energy cocoon (walthay) that protects us.
